What BSAN is building now
BSAN is rebuilding and expanding. We are strengthening the network, growing our resource base, building organizational capacity, and creating more ways for blind people and community partners to connect, contribute, learn, and find support.
- Expanding the network: Reconnecting blind, low vision, and DeafBlind community members with educators, researchers, practitioners, artists, organizers, and allies.
- Growing accessible resources: Finding, reviewing, organizing, and developing sexuality education materials that blind people can use.
- Building capacity: Creating stronger systems for collaboration, volunteer leadership, partnerships, fundraising, and future programming.
- Strengthening support pathways: Helping people find accessible information, community knowledge, professional connections, and appropriate referrals.
- Developing education and training: Building blind-led curricula and professional learning about sexuality, consent, relationships, the Expanded Core Curriculum, and disability justice.
- Creating ways to participate: Inviting community members to join BSAN, suggest resources, share history, propose events, and develop collaborations.
- Preserving and extending the work: Documenting BSAN’s history, recognizing the people who built it, and carrying their work into the next chapter.
